About Us

Dallas Bike Ride is a closed-road, car-free bike ride that traverses 20 miles of Dallas streets. Dallas Bike Ride is a non-competitive scenic bike ride that culminates with a Finish Festival at City Hall Plaza and works to make biking in Dallas safer and more accessible.

Event Questions

When is Dallas Bike Ride?

Dallas Bike Ride 2018 will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018. The ride begins at 8:00am and riders must be in their start corrals prior to 7:45am. The post-ride festival will go until 12:30pm.

What type of event is this?

It is a recreational event for all. We encourage any who enjoys riding a bike to join, no matter what your biking ability. It is not a race and there are no time chips or time clock at the event. It’s all about having fun on your bicycle.

Are there age restrictions?

Children must be 3 years or older to participate. Children in the age group of 3-7 are FREE and must ride on a child bike seat, tagalong bike, tandem bike, in a bike trailer or in a bike cargo. Youth ages 8 to 17 can ride his or her own bicycle, but must be registered with and supervised by an adult riding in Dallas Bike Ride.

Are electric bicycles allowed?

Dallas Bike Ride allows Class 1 Pedal Assist/Standard Pedelec bikes since these bikes are allowed on most roads and paths where normal bikes are allowed and do not require any additional licensing. Other electric bikes that can be propelled by the motor without pedaling, including any bike with a throttle, as well as Class 2 and Class 3 e-bikes, are not allowed in the event.

Are scooters allowed? In-line skates?

Sorry, no scooters (whether electric or human powered) or in-line skates are allowed at Dallas Bike Ride. This is a bicycle-specific event and as such, city permits and event insurance only allow bicycles to participate.

Can I access the course after the ride starts?

No, all riders must begin at the Start. Please arrive before 7:45am to get situated in your corral.

Can I ride the course more than once?

No, the course is a rolling opening behind the 6mph minimum pace. The start will be inaccessible after 8:30am, and any riders that begin after that will be subject to regular traffic.

Registration Questions

Can I get a refund for my registration if I can't attend?

Registrations are NOT refundable. They are transferable for a $10 transfer fee. See the above questions for more details. Please contact us at [email protected] with any questions.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else if I can't come?

Yes! Registrations are transferable, but NOT refundable. If you would like to transfer, please follow the instructions here. Please note, there is a $10 transfer fee imposed on the new rider.

Can I upgrade my standard registration to the VIP option?

Yes! Here’s how you do it. There is a $10 change fee. If you upgrade, you will be asked to pay the remaining balance.

How do I login to my registration and make edits to my profile?

Packet Pickup Questions

Where and when is Packet Pickup?

Packet Pickup will take place at West Village in the Uptown neighborhood of Dallas. Packet Pickup will be held on Thursday, November 1st and Friday, November 2nd. Stay tuned for exact times, travel and parking information to be shared soon.

Can you mail me my rider identification kit?

Yes! We do offer a Packet Mailing option through the registration and you can opt to purchase packet mailing if you are not able to attend Packet Pickup. There will be a cut off date for Packet Mailing in mid-October to ensure all packets can be mailed with enough time to arrive prior to event day.

Will there be morning of Packet Pickup?

No. You must attend Packet Pickup, send a proxy to Packet Pickup or purchase packet mailing.

Post-Ride Questions

Will there be a Finish Line Festival?

Yes, there will be a Finish Festival open to all participants and spectators. The Finish Festival is free and open to the public, so please invite those who didn’t participate to join in on the fun! More information about the festival and entertainment lineup will be available in September after Labor Day.

Is lunch provided for the riders at the Finish Line Festival?

Food and beverage options will be available for purchase. VIP Riders will receive a catered lunch that comes with their VIP registration.

Accommodation and Travel Questions

Do you offer travel options and accommodations for riders?

Yes, we do! We will have an updated parking page soon with information on planning parking ahead of time at a surface lot or garage near the start and finish, as well as directions for driving to the start area. Stay tuned for information on booking with our official hotel partners and to reserve a room near the start at a discounted partner rate.

Where can I park for the ride?

Volunteers

Can I volunteer for the ride?

Absolutely! We have volunteer roles available at Packet Pickup and at the ride (the Start, Finish and out on the course)! All volunteers receive a Ride Crew t-shirt, snacks and drinks. Register to volunteer here!
